Up and Away!

We left home at 8:45am and two buses and three trains later arrived at Robin Hood's Bay at around 13:40pm. The journey was uneventful apart from almost failing to get off the bus when it reached RHB! The weather was superb with no wind and barely a cloud in the sky. As we sought our B&B, The Villa at the top of the village, two chaps were just coming down the road about to complete the Coast to Coast. Having checked in we headed downhill, minus rucksacks, to the beach and dipped our toes in the water. I couldn't help but feel that the tide is always out (it always has been when I have been there!) and so we made our ways across the sand to the water's edge. We took photos and then looked for a pebble. Considering how many have been transported here from St Bees there seemed to be surprisingly few of them. We both picked up  two, one to keep and one to throw into the Irish Sea should we reach it. Although it didn't feel like it the return back up the hill was the start of our walk. I was pleased I had not got my 18kg load on my back. At around 18:00pm we went to the pub next door for a meal (Hunters Chicken) and then back at the B&B repacked ready for the morning. We were asleep soon after 22:00pm.
