Edale to Hope
8.4 miles
5h 05mins (including stop)
435m gross ascent

This walk takes you from Edale Station to Hope Station both of which are on the Sheffield to Manchester line. Taking a train from Sheffield at 10:14am gives sufficient time to complete the walk and catch the train from Hope at 16:36pm. It is on reasonable paths but they tend to be less clear on the moorland. It is fairly wild and remote (by Peak District standards)walk. The walk climbs up around Ringing Roger and then heads right onto Rowland Cote Moor and past the Druids Stone. Crossing the top of Jaggers Clough (a good place to stop for an early lunch)you head out to Crookstone Knoll. There are views over the Hope Valley and a glimpse of Ladybower Reservoir with Back Tor visible beyond. Dropping down and continuing along the edge of the forest you pass Hope Cross and head towards Win Hill. If you have the time and energy then the hill is a short diversion. Admire the cement works and quarry beyond Hope and Earls Sidings below. When you reach the T junction in the lane after Edge Farm turn left and after around 15yds turn right through a gate to take a footpath across fields to Hope Station.
