She came over to England
To work and play here for a while
She travelled round from place to place
It always was her style
But now she’s heading off
To the other side of the world
To see those things she dreamed about
When she was a little girl
He’s signed up with the forces
He’ll be off to some foreign land
He might be fighting for our country soon
Or just sunbathing in the sand
He always needed some direction
That little thing he could never find
But heading off to something new
Means leaving something else behind
In my hometown she worked in a bank
Then she worked in a store
I guess deep down she always knew
She needed something more
But now she’s moved to the country
To live the life she loves
I hope she finds what she’s looking for
And I hope she stays in touch
Because moving on brings you happiness
But it also brings you pain
Excitement and adventure
You get sunshine, you get rain
It’s funny how we celebrate
Losing someone we know
But she’s got to chase her dream I guess
And that’s why she’s got to go
