The Weather Song

Clouds on the horizon, I can’t help staring into space
I guess it looks like rain, I’m going to feel the wetness on my face
I can’t help wondering what exactly it was we had
But I find myself returning because I can’t help looking back
The storm is brewing I can just feel it in the air
The electric sparks of lightning
God I wish that you were here because I’m feeling kind of scared

The wind is rising I can feel it taking my breath away
How come we can talk forever with nothing much to say?
The only thing I want to ask you is exactly how you feel
But you’d never give me an answer so I don’t ask
I just learn to deal with it
The rain is pouring now, how come some things never change?
I could really do with some shelter or a little warmth from you
I don’t want to play this game

It’s getting colder, I can see the frost hitting the ground
I guess we’re freezing over and I guess I’ll see you around
How come goodbye with you always seems to take so long?
Like there’s something I still need to say to you
Something that’s still very wrong
The night is falling now and the day feels so far away
I could really do with some sleep but you know
that I don’t want to end this way
